Therapy for
Women
I specialize in supporting women through a vast array of issues unique to them, including adjusting to motherhood, navigating modern dating, and managing the mental load. I also work with women on a variety of topics such as postpartum depression, relationships, friendships, and parenthood. My focus extends to helping with self-esteem and people-pleasing, as well as addressing the challenges of infertility and deciding whether to have children.
Maybe Your Mental Health Challenges Have Made It Difficult to Enjoy Life
do you feel the constant pressure to be everything to everyone?
does it feel like there’s an endless list of expectations to be the perfect wife, mother, friend, daughter, and employee?
is a mental health issue like anxiety, depression, or a pattern of people-pleasing making it hard for you to enjoy life?
is the emotional weight of being a mom draining your energy and leaving you feeling sad and irritable?
Perhaps you feel like you have to be there for everyone, juggling your career and home life with ease. You might be struggling with infertility, postpartum depression, or other perinatal issues. I also understand that being a mother doesn't necessarily mean giving birth, and there are many different types of mothering. You may need support when transitioning into a new role as a mother, changing careers, or finding your passion—or in embracing the decision not to have children and what that looks like for you.
When facing all this stress, you might engage in self-sabotaging behaviors like drinking too much, skipping meals, or spending excessive time on social media. You may be thinking of seeing a therapist who specializes in providing mental health support for women.
The Pressure to Be Perfect Is Real
As a woman in today’s world, you might feel bombarded by sky-high expectations for beauty and success. When you don’t live up to the standards set by social media and diet culture, you may worry that you’re just not good enough. Maybe you suffer from negative body image and have trouble accepting the way you look, especially as your body changes throughout different chapters of your life. It’s hard to love the body we're in and have a healthy relationship with food when nobody ever taught us how.
Additionally, perhaps your relationships don’t make you feel good about who you are. You might be in a toxic or abusive relationship or have a partner who doesn’t respect your needs and boundaries. Deep down, you probably wish you had more of a voice—you’re tired of making yourself invisible for the other person.
The truth is that, while we like to believe we’ve achieved gender equality, women still face disproportionate adversity in our world today. Between sexism in the workplace, unrealistic beauty standards, and conflicting demands, it's no secret that most women are struggling. We are more likely to deal with anxiety, depression, and other mental health ailments, and we're still expected to bear the mental load of motherhood.
You Don't Have to Do It Alone
Low self-worth and negative body image have become especially prevalent in recent decades. Now more than ever, women need a place where they can escape the clamor of voices telling them who they need to be, how they need to dress, and what they need to eat. In short, they need somewhere where they can be themselves and find respite from the pressures of the outside world.
If you want to make room for a real, deep kind of self-care—beyond the manicures and beauty products—I can help. My mission is to help women improve their mental health and better their relationships with themselves and others. I am confident that I can do the same for you.
I’m here for you.
Therapy is a space to find your voice and feel like yourself again.
Over time, it’s easy to feel like you’ve lost yourself. The pressures of work, motherhood, friendships, and relationships can make it feel like you're constantly playing a role for everyone else. This can leave you feeling quiet, unseen, and disconnected from who you really are.
My mission is to give you tangible tools and skills that you can use to manage your mental health challenges and effectively act as your own therapist. My goal is to help you peel back the layers of expectations and people-pleasing to reconnect with your own voice. Together, we can work on setting firm boundaries, finding clarity on what you truly want, and rediscovering the person you were before the world told you who to be.
I specialize in treating women’s issues and I understand many of the ways that these issues overlap with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges. My approach to counseling can help you work through infertility, bond with your baby, manage the mental load of motherhood, and deal with any other challenges related to the perinatal period. I want you to feel seen, heard, and understood, but I also want to empower you to change your life and achieve your hopes and dreams.
Here’s what we’ll do together
Therapy that helps you get in touch with yourself and your values.
What to Expect in Women’s Counseling
Therapy looks different from client to client, as I recognize that each woman is unique and deserves a treatment plan that reflects that uniqueness. Generally, we’ll start by getting to the root cause of your struggles so that we can understand how you got to where you are today. Then we’ll focus on practical skills, such as grounding and mindfulness, that you can draw from to manage your symptoms in day-to-day life. Here are some of the main approaches I use:
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): I use DBT to help you build skills in four key areas: mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Many of the skills we work on are focused on relationships—helping you set boundaries, advocate for your needs, and improve your communication.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): The goal of ACT is to help you accept the things you can't control and commit to living a life that aligns with your values. When you are in tune with your values, it’s easier to feel more confident in who you are.
Internal Family Systems (IFS): Your personality is made up of many different parts. IFS can help you get in touch with all of your parts, allowing you to understand yourself on a deeper level and heal the parts of your personality that were wounded by trauma.
By drawing from whatever combination of approaches suits you best, I am confident that I can help you learn how to truly take care of yourself, build your confidence, and be more present in your life.

I tailor your treatment plan to your unique needs and goals. There isn’t an exact timeframe for therapy; some people find relief after just a few sessions, while others need more time to overcome their challenges. Regardless of how long therapy takes, I encourage you to be kind to yourself and practice self-compassion, because everyone heals at their own pace.

Therapy is a powerful investment in yourself and your mental health. When your emotional well-being is strong, every other area of your life—from your relationships to your work—generally follows suit. What's more, when people put off addressing their struggles, they often find that their symptoms compound over time, leading to a much larger emotional and financial cost in the long run. Being proactive and taking care of your mental health now is the best way to ensure your future well-being.
