What we’ll work on

A beige starburst shape on a black background.

Imagine a life where…

01 you feel truly present when you’re with people.

The internal chaos and racing thoughts finally settle down, allowing you to actually listen and connect instead of constantly feeling distracted.

02 your ideas turn into actual execution, not just mental clutter

You gain the clear, step-by-step systems you need to launch your projects without the paralyzing fear of failure or the inevitable burnout.

03 keeping commitments without dropping the ball

You stop dreading double-checking everything because you finally trust your own memory and organizational flow.

Is your mind always racing, but you can’t get started on your massive to-do list?

are you struggling constantly with time management and feeling like you can never stay organized?

DO YOU HYPERFOCUS INTENSELY ON THE SMALL TASK JUST TO AVOID THE MAIN, IMPORTANT TASK?

HAVE YOU STARTED TO SERIOUSLY WONDER, “COULD THIS BE ADHD?”

Always responding to messages in your head but genuinely forgetting to send them, constantly missing important work assignments, and having brilliant ideas that you struggle immensely to actually execute—does that sound familiar?

For high-functioning individuals, daily responsibilities that seem effortless for literally everyone else can feel completely overwhelming. During meetings or when you're trying to chill with friends, that restless feeling creeps in, making it physically hard to sit still or focus, even when you desperately want to be present. Despite knowing you're intelligent and capable, there’s this crushing, nagging sense that you’re not reaching your actual potential.

For far too long, these struggles have gone completely unrecognized. You might be spiraling with questions like: Wait, do I have ADHD? Does this even affect adults? Could therapy actually help me focus and finally feel organized?

ADHD in Women: Why women get missed

The outdated stereotype of ADHD—the hyperactive boy disrupting class—is why so many women are missed. ADHD in women presents as a lot of internal chaos, intense executive functioning challenges, and overwhelming emotional regulation difficulties.

Instead of being obviously hyperactive, you might just seem "daydreamy," "scattered," or the "hot mess" friend. This means your symptoms often get completely overlooked or slapped with the wrong diagnosis.

The shame is real. The internal narrative of being "lazy" or "not trying hard enough" gets deeply internalized when your brain simply operates on a different operating system and needs different strategies. Forcing yourself to function like everyone else is exhausting and only amplifies those negative feelings.

If you’re ready to finally understand your brain and develop strategies that actually work with your unique wiring instead of constantly fighting against it, you need specialized ADHD therapy. At the Therapy for Women Center, our therapists specialize in ADHD treatment for women, because we know exactly how these challenges affect females across their lifespan.

ADHD is so much more than just difficulty concentrating.

ADHD also messes with emotional regulation, rejection sensitivity (RSD), and the crippling desire for perfectionism. Intense emotional reactions might feel disproportionate, or even minor constructive criticism can feel absolutely devastating. Let’s be clear: these responses aren’t character flaws—they’re neurological differences.

ADHD in women often brings along bonus challenges like anxiety, depression, or disordered eating. Plus, hormonal shifts—think your monthly cycle, pregnancy, or menopause—can seriously intensify your symptoms. That’s why it’s non-negotiable to work with ADHD specialists who fully grasp the complex connections between hormones, mental health, and ADHD in women.

It Is NOT Too Late: Ditching the Shame

Many women resist ADHD treatment because they assume it’s too late or that they've missed the window.

The "too sensitive," "too much," or "just try harder" messages you heard growing up still echo loud and clear. Society expects women to be naturally flawless organizers and nurturers. Struggling with these unrealistic expectations makes it easy to internalize the message that something is fundamentally wrong with you.

You might worry that seeking ADHD treatment as an adult means admitting you're defective or that you're giving up. Maybe you've spent years managing by working twice as hard as everyone else, and you're afraid that acknowledging your ADHD is just making excuses.

The truth? ADHD therapy is about understanding how your brain works and developing strategies that honor your unique wiring. With proper ADHD treatment, you can finally learn to work with your brain instead of constantly fighting against it and finally reach your potential.

I’m here for you.

ADHD therapy isn't about "fixing" you; it's about unlocking your full potential and embracing your unique strengths.

ADHD isn't just a list of deficits—it comes packed with incredible gifts like creativity, innovative thinking, and the ability to connect seemingly unrelated ideas. My approach isn't about "fixing" you; it's about partnering with you to develop systems and strategies that let these natural gifts shine.

I offer a comprehensive approach to ADHD therapy, addressing both the practical logistics and the deep emotional toll of living with it. I help you build essential executive functioning skills, nail down better time management, and create organizational systems that are actually compatible with your unique brain wiring. Crucially, we focus on healing the shame and self-criticism that piled up over years of struggling without knowing why.

My practice focuses exclusively on ADHD in women, which means we get the unique female presentation completely. We understand how hormonal shifts affect your symptoms, how masking and people-pleasing often hide ADHD signs, and how perfectionism often develops as a coping strategy to manage internal chaos.

Here’s what we’ll do together

The goal isn’t to ‘fix’ you. We will heal the shame, embrace your strengths, and equip you with the practical tools to finally reach your potential.

I don't use a one-size-fits-all approach. I tailor every ADHD therapy session to meet your unique needs, using evidence-based methods specifically proven to work for adults with ADHD. (Note: I do not conduct formal neuropsychological testing or provide medication management. Instead, I work seamlessly with your existing medical team—your psychiatrist, NP, or PCP—to ensure your care is coordinated and comprehensive.)

You'll gain practical skills and deep insights through a combination of approaches:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for ADHD: I use CBT to help you target and shift unhelpful thought patterns that fuel ADHD-related shame and overwhelm. You'll walk away with real strategies for organization, time management, and emotional regulation.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): I find these skills are especially valuable for women with ADHD who struggle with intense emotions and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD). You will master mindfulness techniques and powerful distress tolerance skills.

  • ADHD Coaching Strategies: While pure coaching focuses mainly on logistics, my therapy integrates practical coaching methods. Expect to build concrete organizational systems and stronger executive functioning skills, but paired with emotional healing.

  • Mindfulness-Based Approaches: Learning to be present helps sharpen your attention and significantly reduce the background anxiety that often accompanies ADHD.

I don't just focus on logistics; I address the deep emotional impact of living with undiagnosed or untreated ADHD. This includes exploring and healing issues like perfectionism, people-pleasing, and imposter syndrome. Many women with ADHD have spent years masking their symptoms—therapy provides a safe, non-judgmental space for you to finally unmask and be completely authentic.

When all is said and done, here’s the thing:

With the right support, you can live your life and experience happiness again.

Questions?

FAQs

  • Many women aren’t certain if their struggles are ADHD, since it often goes undiagnosed in females. During our first sessions, I conduct a thorough assessment to determine if your symptoms align with ADHD. Even without a formal diagnosis, the strategies I teach for attention, organization, and emotional regulation will be incredibly helpful.

  • Just managing doesn't mean you're thriving. Many high-functioning women develop sophisticated, high-energy coping mechanisms that help them survive—but at the cost of burnout and chronic exhaustion. ADHD therapy is the process of helping you move from mere survival to genuine thriving, reducing the enormous energy drain that comes from constantly fighting your own brain. It's time to reclaim that energy for joy and fulfillment.

  • ADHD medication is not required, but it is an option that many women explore. My focus is on providing robust therapy and building strategies first. We can then discuss whether medication might be something beneficial for you to explore with your medical provider, based purely on your personal symptoms and goals.

While I don't prescribe, I work closely with your medical team (your psychiatrist, NP, or PCP) and can help you prepare for those discussions. If you choose to explore medication, it's essential that your provider takes a conservative, "less-is-more" approach, carefully monitoring the effects. This is especially true for women, as we need to track how medication interacts with your unique hormonal cycles to ensure any treatment chosen provides the best support for your specific situation.

  • My approach is unique because I specialize specifically in women’s mental health, which means I deeply understand the unique ways ADHD affects females. I am intimately familiar with how hormonal changes impact ADHD symptoms, how societal expectations complicate life for women with ADHD, and how masking behaviors develop over time. This specialized focus ensures the strategies we use are relevant and effective for your specific experience.

  • Yes, I offer both in-person and virtual ADHD therapy sessions. Many of my clients prefer virtual sessions because they can receive treatment from the comfort of their own space
